Paradise Bank Endorses Higher Education Philanthropy

Paradise Education Foundation Inc., a recently formed Fort Lauderdale based 501c(3) charitable organization, is pleased to announce that an additional $40,000 has been added to the Paradise Education Foundation Scholarship Fund at Broward College. This is in addition to the $11,250 donated earlier this year.

The mission of the Paradise Education Foundation, Inc. is to provide funding for post- secondary education for at-risk youth of South Florida. Paradise Education Foundation was founded in the summer of 2011 by a group of like-minded individuals, who were all shareholders, employees or customers of Paradise Bank, to provide a vehicle to assist at-risk youth of South Florida with financial help for post-secondary education.

Career Overview:

After joining Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. in New York City I have spent my career in banking. Arrived in Florida in 1983 with Southeast Bank and thereafter spent many years with Capital Bank which eventually became Union Planters where I served as Senior Vice President in regional administration and commercial lending. I then joined Admiralty Bank as Executive Vice President until we were acquired by Royal Bank of Canada.

After non-competes expired, we founded Paradise Bank where I currently serve as Area President in charge of Broward operations.

Community Affiliations:

  1. Chairman of Accelerated Learning Solutions, which consists of three charter high schools in Broward that serve students not generally succeeding in the traditional educational model. We have applied for two additional facilities. Each semester we graduate approximately 100 students with full academic diplomas.

Working within our charter schools to identify and further add educational depth to students in the college track. The concept is to prepare these students to the level where remedial courses will not be necessary and they can start earning college credits immediately. Back these students up with scholarships and mentoring. Paradise Bank has committed resources for a Sunshine Scholarship to further assist.

Married 42 years to Eileen McNally, who heads up the Weston Library.  Proud father of four kids, all of whom are well educated, well married and happy.
